Australis Velourlips Thoughts & Opinions

Sorry for the lack of updates!

I’ll be upfront here. I kind of suckered myself into the writer’s block because I did say that the next post was going to be about my new Australis products, but the thing is that I don’t wear eye makeup everyday and the two matte lip creams I got… oh, where do I begin?

My first impression of them when I wore them for a short period of time was fabulous. I loved how easily it applied, the smell and taste (like grape candy, come on, everyone’s favorite flavour is purple isn’t it?) (Purple isn’t a flavour but you know what I mean), the color, gosh I loved the color pay off, so pretty and vibrant!

But there was one major reason why I didn’t want to post about them. Because like most matte lip products, they dried up not only on my lips but they dried up my lips as well! They didn’t work for me initially, but I didn’t want to post a negative review…

I have naturally dry lips (and oily skin haha what) so these products didn’t work so well for me as the day went on, especially if I ate oily foods.

Not all hope is lost though!

I found that when my lips get patchy or dry throughout the day, I just remove the product entirely from my lips with a wet wipe, apply the Nivea Med Protection lip balm and then apply Velourlips Matte Cream again and it’s all hunky dory until the next time I eat! I try not to reapply on top of the last layer as that causes crustiness – not a cute look.

The real hero here is this baby, to be honest.

Nivea has always been good to my lips, so I’m showing it some love that it deserves! ❤

I bought my Australis Velourlips from some atrium sale, but if you’re in Singapore and would like to purchase them, search for Laycy on Carousell! They constantly have a buy 3 get 1 free promotion on their products, and I’ve heard that their service is impeccable! ☺

22, female, Singaporean. There's so much more to know than just my ASL. Like how I find informercials interesting, animated children's films more heart wrenching than the saddest adult film you can think of, how the mind of an extroverted introvert works and well, my life in general is pretty interesting if written about in the right way. Unless you're not into getting to know someone on a deeper level, and an ASL is all you need, then - kthxbai.
